Our Breeding Program Our breeding program begins with and is based on breeding to
those Labrador Retrievers with those desirable traits and qualities we wish
to incorporate into our bloodlines. Our goal since 1977 has been to improve the natural instincts
of the chocolate and yellow Labrador Retrievers. We believe as James Lamb
Free stated in his book Training Your Retriever, “a Labrador doesn’t know what color he is and there is nothing in the
book of genetics that says a yellow or a chocolate Lab can’t be as good
as the best of the blacks. In fact, the field trial record book says they
can be as good as any”. In the last several years yellow and chocolate Labs have won
national titles. A yellow Lab, NAFC-FC MD’s Cotton Pick’n Cropper became a National Amateur Field Trial winner. Two chocolate
Labs have also taken national titles. NFC-AFC Storm’s Riptide Star became
the first chocolate to win the National Open. CNAFC Quik Windstorm
won the Canadian National Amateur.
